On Friday the 8th of December Team Tui had a expo where we showed all our creations that we made for the past few weeks some students from the little classes came and even parents came to see what the students had made . There was a lot of amazing creations that were made such as Faka ha’apai, Ti-ti, Kufi and many more other creations that were made. The expo also sold food and drinks but overall the expo was really fun and it was cool getting to see the different creations that were made.
For the Cybersmart task this week we had to use one of our blog post that we’ve already published and then had to see if it had a unique and interesting title, digital learning object, information about my learning and then category and tags. And if you didn’t have any of those following components then you had to edit it and then paste the screenshot onto the slide and drag the tabs to the correct areas. This Cybersmart task was very easy and simple and it showed how to organise your blog post more and what to add.
On Tuesday 21st of November student leaders and other chosen students got picked to go on a rainbows end trip. We could wear mufti, bring money to buy our own food and got to do what we wanted for the day. We didn’t need to wait for a adult to take us on a ride we could go by ourselves and hangout with our friends. Me and my friends went on most of the rides together with each other but then we wanted to do different things so we all went to go on different rides. My favourite ride of the day was ether the gold rush or log flume. But overall the day was really fun and enjoyable.
On Thursday Glen Taylor had a matariki festival we performed in front of parents, Glenbrae, Pt England and Glendowie primary school. First the Kapa Haka group went and then from there the rest of the schools went and the kids from our school. I really enjoyed the performances and the maori songs that they presented.
After everybody finished performing we then went back to our classes and had workshops. The experience with everybody coming in and having a look at our workshop was so cool because we got to share all our hard work with them. I would definitely love to do this again because it was such a fun and great experience to have.
This week for writing we are learning about figurative language. For our first word that we were learning about was Metaphor. This task or activity was very easy and fun because there were riddles and sentences that we had to create ourselves. I also learnt that Metaphor is a comparison of two unlike things that says one thing is another.
The Cybersmart challenge week 2 was called how do other countries celebrate new years. Some countries that were provided or given with the slides were Denmark, South Africa, Japan, South Korea ETC. And it was very interesting to learn about what other countries do to celebrate the new year. I think my favourite country that I was really captivated by was probably South Korea. Because it was very interesting how they return to their parents home town and then perform an ancestral dance to give them good luck for the new year ahead.
For cybersmart challenge week 6 we had to do All about me. We had to come up with some facts or use the facts that were provided on the doc.After we finished writing our facts ECT we had to insert a photo of ourselves. Lastly we had change the colors of the background I chose these blue colors. And that was the task finished it was very easy to do and didn’t take up much time.
